Simply and comfortably furnished and with superb beachfront positioning and views, our Island Shacks make ideal getaways for individuals, couples and families. Located in the most sought-after coastal areas in Tasmania, and a scenic hour’s drive from Hobart, these family-owned shacks are also the perfect hideaway for creative types wanting inspiration and a bit of peace and quiet. Fresh seafood, pristine swimming waters and long sunny days equal an unforgettable summer holiday; rainy afternoons, cosy log-fires and local wines make for a delightfully moody winter escape.
This traditional Dennes Point beachside shack looks out over North Bruny’s Nebraska Beach, and is only 30 seconds’ walk to its white sands and calm silver waters. Although cleverly renovated to provide all the creature comforts, Carrington Cottage retains its simple beach-shack look and feel, and it is the perfect base for exploring Bruny Island’s gourmet and wilderness delights.
With room to sleep 7 (1 queen, 2 singles, 1 trundle and a double sofa bed), this cosy 2-bedroom cottage with polished timber floors throughout. Offers a renovated kitchen and bathroom (with shower), laundry facilities, dining area, lounge (with wood-heater, TV, DVD player, DVDs, books and games), outside BBQ area and a wrap-around timber deck with views over the water. A kayak and boat moorings complete the picture.
Dennes Point is a popular swimming, sailing, diving and kayaking spot; a growing arts and crafts community (the Dennes Point centre includes a gallery, café and store); the drop-off point for tourist ferries; and a fantastic place to head out for bushwalks. Your hardest decision of the day? Whether to sit on the deck and watch the sunset, with a glass of wine and your own caught-and-cooked seafood dinner… or head out for a meal at the nearby Jetty Café or at one of Bruny's excellent restaurants or pubs.
